V-Ring Seal

A rubber seal that rotates with the shaft and seals axially against a stationary housing face, providing contamination protection for bearings.

What Is a V-Ring Seal?

A V-ring seal is a one-piece rubber seal that mounts directly onto the shaft and rotates with it. The V-shaped lip seals against a stationary perpendicular surface (housing face, bearing end face, or washer). It provides excellent protection against dust, splash water, and debris -- particularly effective as a secondary seal outside the main bearing seal.

Applications

Conveyor bearings, agricultural equipment, construction machinery, and any application exposed to dust, water, or mud. See the Seal Selection Guide for sizing and material selection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a V-ring seal work?

Unlike conventional oil seals that are stationary, a V-ring seal stretches over the shaft and rotates with it. Its flexible lip seals axially against a stationary surface (housing face or bearing outer ring end face). Centrifugal force at speed flings contaminants away from the lip.
